HALIOD can provide experimental and numerical studies in the following offshore fields :

- Seakeeping of floating structures (FPSO, Semis, TLPs, Offloading buoy)
- Risers, Export lines, Cables and mooring lines dynamics
- Currents and waves loads on immersed structures (added mass and drag coefficients, V.I.V.)
- Hydrodynamics loads on towed and autonomous vehicles, dynamic reponse

For such studies HALIOD can perform :

Model testing in the Deep Offshore Basin at Brest equipped with a high quality wave generator and in the Boulogne-sur-Mer Water Channel providing steady flows in the range of 7 cm/s up to 2 m/s. These facilities allow HALIOD to perform tailor-made studies on non conventional problems.

Principia

Numerical analysis of: seakeeping response in linear frequency domain based on panel method (AQUA+) and in non linear time domain (DIODORE), risers and mooring lines dynamics (DeepLines TM) including fully coupled approach, flow interferences on cables and risers, modal vibrations, steady and unsteady viscous flows both on large and slender structures from CFD (FLUENT, EOLE), ...

Combined experimental and numerical expertise allow HALIOD to characterize and assess the design of new offshore concepts from preliminary design stage up to the installation and exploitation stages.
